There have been many times in life when I have had to change course. By accepting the unexpected, doors to new possibilities were opened.
I had no idea what to expect when I hopped on a flight to Manila. But when I landed in the capital of the Philippines, I knew I had made the right decision. I checked into the hotel and quickly headed back out to explore the streets. As I emerged in my new surroundings, I grew increasingly curious about the adventures that awaited.
It can be difficult for me to stay clear of overanalyzing. But travel pulls me out of that cycle and I eventually find it easier to fall into a more natural state of being.
Malapascau, Palawan, and the tiny islands surrounding were a gateway to gratitude and a lesson in patience - a gentle reminder to live in the here and now. The calmer pace amidst the tropical settings allowed me to slow down. Loosening up, I let life move freely. The experience made me realize once more that travel’s true gift lies in personal growth. In the end, the trip became more than just a change of scenery; it provided time to allow for appreciation and a transformation within me.
